STEM – in Amateur Radio

Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics in Amateur Radio
The Mission

To generate interest, inspire and motivate young people to discover all the wonders of amateur radio. We intend to do this via a wide array of hands-on STEM experiments as we demonstrate what Amateur (Ham) radio encompasses. Primary school and Secondary school students are also shown opportunities that may await them as licensed amateur operators, all which would otherwise remain unavailable to them.

Mysteries and benefits of this great hobby are revealed. Through these efforts, we’ve seen an increase in both focus and concentration on the part of each and every student.

One of these experiments is ultimately the ability to communicate with Astronauts in Space in the Amateur Radio in Space program https://www.ariss.org/.

Here is 9 year old Grace in Florida using amateur radio to communicate around the world.
